Junior Chefs' Academy - Teachers' Testimonials

We're proud of the work we do in helping Junior Chefs learn about healthy eating while having fun. We're proud of the fact that the many schools with which we work recognise and appreciate what we do. Here's how teachers describe our approach to teaching Junior Chefs about food:

  • A really fun way to present learning and important messages about eating healthily.
  • The children have truly enjoyed developing their understanding of healthy eating, “Fairtrade” and the practical skills required of a chef!
  • The Junior Chefs’ Academy has been a fantastic experience for ALL the pupils.
  • Fantastic teaching techniques with all children involved and loving learning.

As you may have gathered from the day, everyone who witnessed the session felt it was fantastic and a real benefit to the pupils. I felt the content and structure of the session was great, providing all the pupils with a range of knowledge and skills to help them develop healthy and sustainable food habits in the future.

We had a brilliant day! The workshops were very well organised, motivating and interactive, delivered by a captivating and enthusiastic Head Chef. From the first minute a session started, Paul had the children hooked! The children loved wearing the chefs’ hats and being called ‘chef’. In their own words, the workshops were “Amazing and awesome”. Thank you from all the staff and children who participated in the workshops.

This has been a thoroughly enjoyable event; a really fun way to present learning and important messages about eating healthily. Paul Cooper, the head chef, is so enthusiastic and the children really latched on to that. From the school’s point of view, it has been extremely easy; it was very well organised and filled with ready-made activities that kept all twenty four children interested and fully engaged throughout the morning.

Dear Sue and team. Many thanks for a fabulous day yesterday; our children had a wonderful time. We thought that the activity was perfect for the age group and the chef had a fantastic rapport with the children; keeping them interested and engaged throughout. He was really at their level and the children loved the hats and aprons - it made them feel really important. The pace of the session was pitched perfectly as well so, all in all, a great day; and hopefully some budding master chefs will emerge in years to come!

The Junior Chefs Academy is an amazing organisation, putting children at the heart of the learning - and what an experience for them!  Our day was a hive of activity, all the tasks carefully focused and with an exciting level of competition which the children so enjoyed.  It is without doubt quite the best Healthy Food workshop I have ever seen and the slick organisation of the two presenters made the whole day trouble free.

The Junior Chefs’ Academy has been a fantastic experience for ALL the pupils at Northway! The children have been captivated by the very dynamic ‘head chef’ and all that he taught them (R-Y6). The sessions were so well organised and really matched the ability of the pupils. The children really did have fun with food while learning in a fun and practical way. Thank you from all the staff and pupils.
