Two Award Nominations for Junior Chefs

Finalist in the EN Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2014 - most entrepreneurial company

The Junior Chefs team is delighted to report that we've been named as finalists in not one but two separate business award competitions.

Firstly, as you may have seen in our Nomination Video, we were recently shortlisted in the 2014 E3 Business Awards, which will be held in Bolton on 18th September. We'll be one of four nominees competing for the Corporate Social Responsibility Award.

E3 Business Awards Nomination Video

As we reported recently, Junior Chefs' Academy has been named as a finalist in the 2014 E3 Business Awards. We've been shortlisted for the Corporate Social Responsibility award.

Our chairman, Derek Horrocks, recently met with the organisers of the Awards and took part in a short video explaining what this nomination means to us.

Working Nationwide with TESCO

The letter from the winning designer from St. Andrew's Primary, Grace, aged 9.

Well over a year ago, Junior Chefs' Academy began working with TESCO, which offers our workshops as prizes in its national 'Eat Great Feel Great' competition for primary schools. This relationship is still going strong and, through it, we have visited schools and parts of the country that are entirely new to the Junior Chefs approach.

Spreading the Word

Paul Cooper delivering a food skills workshop to primary school childrenThe last few weeks have been pretty hectic and they've seen Junior Chefs' Academy spreading  the word about healthy eating to an ever-increasing audience.

Thanks to our continuing association with Tesco, we've been delivering food education workshops in primary schools right across the UK. Recently, for example, we visited Garscadden Primary School in Glasgow, where 9 year old pupil, Keira Docherty, produced a prize-winning poster design in a healthy eating competition launched by Tesco Extra. Not only did Keira see her design in print on hundreds of Tesco bags-for-life, but she also earned her school a free day of sessions with Junior Chefs' Academy.
